27. April 2011: “Akzeptierende Drogenpolitik” in Potsdam

Vortrag & Diskussion im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe „Junge Linke im Gespräch“ am 27.04.2011 – 18:00 Uhr bis 20:00 Uhr in der Geschäftsstelle der Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Brandenburg, Dortustr. 53, Potsdam.

Eine drogenfreie Gesellschaft erweist sich immer wieder als eine Illusion.

Allerdings hat sich eine repressive Drogenpolitik immer wieder als eine Katastrophe erwiesen. So sterben im mexikanischen Drogenkrieg mehr Menschen als im Irak und zu Zeiten der Prohibition von Alkohol in den USA und in der Sowjetunion wurde sogar mehr Alkohol als vorher konsumiert. Außerdem scheinen repressive Maßnahmen zwar nicht die Experimentierfreude potentieller Konsumenten einzuschränken, erhöhen aber die gesundheitlichen Gefahren des Konsums durch fehlende Aufklärung.

Dem gegenüber steht – auch als ein emanzipatorischer Ansatz – die akzeptierende Drogenpolitik. Bei diesem Ansatz steht vor allem die Aufklärung von potentiellen Konsumenten über Gebrauch und möglichen Folgen des Drogenkonsums im Vordergrund.

Er versteht den potentiellen Konsumenten als mündiges Wesen, welches die Entscheidung zum Konsum selbst trifft. Eine Kriminalisierung von Drogenkonsum schließt dieser Ansatz, mit dem Thema umzugehen, nahezu aus.

In der Veranstaltung soll erörtert werden, inwieweit akzeptierende Drogenpolitik ein linker Politikansatz ist und wo dessen Chancen und Grenzen liegen.
