El 11 de marzo se realizará la jornada de acullicu en defensa del masticado de la hoja de coca

La Paz 28 feb (Prensa Palacio)- El domingo 11 de marzo se realizará la jornada nacional del acullicu en defensa del masticado de la hoja de coca y de la dignidad nacional, anunció este martes el secretario ejecutivo del Consejo de Federaciones Campesinas de los Yungas (Cofecay), Félix Barra.

El dirigente convocó a esa movilización a varias organizaciones sociales, entre ellas a los mineros, a la Central Obrera Boliviana (COB), a la Confederación Nacional de Mujeres Campesinas Bartolina Sisa y a la CSUTCB.

La iniciativa surgió en apoyo a la defensa de la despenalización del masticado de la hoja de coca que hará el presidente Evo Morales cuando asista, el 12 de marzo en Viena (Austria), a la reunión de la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU).

“Vamos a seguir exigiendo que el acullico se legalice. Como todos sabemos es nuestra identidad de los pueblos andinos por eso es obligación de las organizaciones sociales la defensa de ella”, dijo Barra tras sostener una reunión con el Jefe de Estado en Palacio Quemado, junto a dirigentes de la Asociación Departamental de Productores de Coca (Adepcoca).

El dirigente también anunció que acompañarán al Presidente en su viaje a Viena para la defensa del acullicu dos productores de hoja de coca de los Yungas de La Paz y otros dos dirigentes cocaleros del trópico de Cochabamba.

En su informe anual de 2011 la Junta Internacional de Fiscalización de Estupefacientes (JIFE), organismo independiente de la ONU, lamentó la medida adoptada por Bolivia de denunciar la Convención de 1961 sobre estupefacientes con el objetivo de legalizar el masticado de la hoja de coca.

El Gobierno, a través del viceministro de Defensa Social y Sustancias Controladas, Felipe Cáceres censuró el informe de la JIFE al que calificó como atentatorio contra la “hoja sagrada”, patrimonio cultural de los bolivianos.

“No es posible ni aceptable que la JIFE ignore y desconozca la cultura de los bolivianos por esta situación el Mandatario y dirigentes, ministros y viceministros con la problemática de la lucha contra el narcotráfico estarán presentes el 12 de marzo en Viena para asumir la defensa de la milenaria hoja de coca”, dijo la autoridad.

El presidente Morales, en diciembre de 2011, remitió una carta al secretario general de la ONU Ban Ki-moon en la que pide la adhesión de Bolivia a la Convención Única sobre estupefacientes de 1961 con la reserva del uso medicinal y cultural de la coca, declarada patrimonio por la nueva Constitución Política del Estado.
