HanffreundInnen demonstrieren am 19. September gegen praxisfremde SMG-Reform

Wien, 8. September 2015 – Das Hanf-Institut lädt die VertreterInnen der Medien anlässlich des Cannabis Social March Wien zu einem Presse-Espresso.

Aus der Sicht des Hanf-Instituts verdient die geplante Reform des Suchtmittelgesetzes die Note „Nicht genügend“, da Cannabis-Patienten weiterhin kriminalisiert werden.

„Es kann nicht sein, dass die österreichische Bundesregierung weiterhin alle wissenschaftlichen Fakten zu einer nebenwirkunsgarmen Heilpflanze ignoriert, die bei über 250 Krankheiten erfolgreich eingesetzt wird“, sagte Toni Straka, Obmann den Hanf-Instituts.

Das Thema Cannabis als Medizin hat in den vergangenen Wochen enorm an Brisanz gewonnen. Im August bestätigte das US-Gesundheitsministerium offiziell, dass Cannabis Krebszellen abtöten kann.


2. Cannabis-Bürgerinitiative

Aufgrund der SMG-Reform, die weiterhin keine Verbesserungen für Cannabis-Patienten bringt, verstärken heimische Cannabis-Aktivisten ihre Bemühungen, die Regierung auf ihren Irrweg in der Cannabis-Politik aufmerksam zu machen. Mittlerweile werden in ganz Österreich Offline-Unterschriften Für die von der Patientenvertretung Arge Canna initiierte und vom Hanf-Institut unterstützte 2. Parlamentarische Bürgerinitiative betreffen den straffreien Eigenanbau für Cannabis-Patienten gesammelt.

„Bei bisher 16 Info-Ständen in Wien haben wir bereits über 10.000 Unterschriften gesammelt“, sagte Straka und betonte, dass die Zustimmungsquote für Cannabis in Wien quer durch alle Altersschichten bei 99,9 Prozent liegt.

„Von weit über 10.000 Besuchern bei unseren Unterschriftensammlungen haben sich bisher exakt sieben Menschen gegen Hanf ausgesprochen“, sagte Viviana Guerra-Serrano vom Hanf-Institut.

„Wir werden die Politik am 19. September hoffentlich unüberhörbar darauf hinweisen, dass der Anti-Cannabis-Kurs der Regierung ein Holzweg ist, der keine Zustimmung mehr findet“, sagte Straka.

Weitere Details zum Cannabis Social March, zu dem fünfstellige Teilnehmerzahlen erwartet werden, werden am 15. September bekanntgegeben.
