¡A MATAR EL DRAGÓN DE LA PROHIBICIÓN CON MÚJICA!

ALERTA ACCIÓN DE LA COALICIÓN LATINO-AMERICANA DE ACTIVISTAS CANNÁBICOS Y EL DRUGS PEACE INSTITUTE

Amigos de la Marihuana, les escribimos para informarles que la Coalición Latino-Americano de Activistas Cannábicos marchara este año en apoyo a José Mujica, presidente de Uruguay. Aunque nuestras marchas siempre han sido en son de protesta contra la Guerra a las Drogas, hasta la fecha han sido principalmente eventos lúdicos, sin propósito definido. Pero desde que el presidente Mujica de Uruguay se levanto para decir “Basta”, tenemos un líder para llevar la marcha para la legalización de la marihuana al campo de batalla, allí donde el Dragón debe de morir: en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas.

Mujica es el único presidente de una nación soberana quien ha enfrentado la Guerra a las Drogas. El 9 de agosto de 21012 su gobierno presento una ley al parlamento uruguayo, para regular el cultivo, la venta y el consumo de la marihuana. Por falta de apoyo popular y teniendo la mayoría en el parlamento, Mujica decidió retirar provisoriamente el proyecto, pero no antes de avisar que volvería después de informar mejor a la población votante.

Allison Holcomb y Rick Ridder quienes organizaron las exitosas campañas de legalización en los estados de Washington y Colorado fueron invitados a Montevideo para informar al gobierno nacional sobre estrategia. También fueron invitado representantes de Drugs Policy Alliance, Wola, the Open Society Foundation, el Trans National Institute y los Clubes Sociales de Cannabis de España, entre otros. Con toda la información obtenida el gobierno uruguayo espera cambiar la opinión pública nacional hasta mediados del año.

Pero la batalla todavía no ha sido ganada. La oposición también se está organizando, dentro y fuera del país, en primera instancia la Junta Internacional de Fiscalización de Estupefacientes de Viena. Es la razón por la cual apoyamos a Mujica, porque su lucha es nuestra. Es una lucha global para combatir el Dragón de la Prohibición. Si Mujica es capaz de abrir una brecha en las convenciones de drogas de las NNUU, todos los demás gobiernos soñando con el fin de la Guerra a las Drogas le seguirán. Por eso les pedimos marchar con el grito de batalla: “A matar el Dragón de la Prohibición con Mujica!”

La marcha es la luz verde para la campaña de la nominación de Mujica para el Premio Nobel de la Paz (www.drugspeaceinstitute.org). No es tanto para el premio, sino para la concientización de que consideramos el fin de la Guerra a las Drogas un asunto primordial, para que podamos aprovechar de nuestra medicina del alma sin menosprecio por el mundo intolerante en nuestro alrededor.

¡Viva Mujica! ¡Viva la Marihuana! ¡Viva la Paz con las Drogas!
