Dear cannabinophiles from everywhere,
It's more than 20 years ago today, the 18th of June 1993, that was held the first
international cannabis meeting, «Première journée internationale du cannabis», in Paris, France, at the Trianon, a nice old theater. Came tens of people from many countries. England, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, USA, Germany and France… Those who were there remember how great it was to exchange information about the situations in their respective countries. And the greatest thing came after, in France, but also in Spain, in Switzerland, in Germany, countries where the cannabis movement was very weak at that time, and even in the USA, Netherlands or Italy, where strong cannabis struggle already existed, as everyone came back home with an incredible energy. We had discovered that cannabis is a worldwide issue, and that made us much stronger,
each one in his country.
Since then, every year, the 18th of June, there is a national gathering, at the Parc de la Villette, on the grass… This huge smoke-in has become a tradition, where not only political parties in favor of reform and cannabis activists have a chance to speak up, but several generations of weed lovers meet, in a relaxed atmosphere, as police isn’t supposed to interfere inside what’s the campus of the Museum of Science.
This Sunday 18th of June, we invite you to this « demonstration on the grass », at La Villette, from 3 to 10 p.m., for the 2017 Paris International Cannabis Meeting. We know it’s short notice, as we had to change our program ourselves very recently. The new French president, Macron, not only refusing legaliazation, is proposing to put fines on smokers. At the same time, as never before, there is now a clear majority in the polls in favor of reforming marijuana laws. For the first time also, at this election, all the candidates from the left have declared themselves in favor of legalization. They usually stand for a state monopoly. Isn’t it time for activists to say how they see it ?
The most striking fact today, is that cannabis is a worldwide issue, a worldwide struggle, for what has to become a worldwide revolution. Everywhere laws must change and are changing. It is time for cannabis users to come together and say what kind of change they stand for, and how freedom can make a better world.
We hope you will be able to attend to this 2017 Paris international cannabis meeting. A meeting that could be held also next year, and every 18th of June until complete worlwide voctory… A place for all cannabis activists around the world to gather, exchange information, and reflect on what could be collective strategies and international solidarity.
This message is intended to be sent around, to all cannabis activists from everywhere on earth. Please help to spead the news, as we hoe to be as many canabis activits as possible, from as many countries as possible, for this 2017 Paris International Cannabis Meeting.
Hoping to see you,
smoking hugs to all…
